An unusual measuring cane, with a large brass angular handle which can unscrew, the octagonal long dark wood shaft fitted with brass button inserts and similar markings to donate a form of measure. This is an undocumented example of a measuring cane and it is our belief that it was used in some way to measure fabric, possibly by the roll.
